Wellbeing
At Ulladulla Public School, we believe that every child deserves a place where they feel valued, supported, and connected. Our vision is simple yet profound: Everyone belongs. This guiding principle shapes all of our programs and initiatives, ensuring that we create an inclusive environment that nurtures each child's unique journey.
We understand that a child's wellbeing is fundamental to their educational success. That's why we have established comprehensive wellbeing programs that focus on social-emotional learning, resilience, and positive relationships. Our approach emphasises attendance, emotional support, friendship guidance, and strategies that enhance the Ulladulla Way of being responsible, being safe, being respectful and being learners. Our programs include:

Peer Support Programs
We encourage our older students to mentor younger peers, fostering a sense of community and belonging. These programs actively promote friendship and social skills through structured activities and guidance, helping students build lasting relationships and navigate dynamics in a positive way. This not only builds confidence in our student mentors but also creates strong, supportive relationships among students.

UPS Legend Initiative
Our unique UPS Legend initiative celebrates the core values of our school: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Integrity. Students are recognised for embodying these values in their daily interactions, reinforcing the importance of character and ethical behaviour in our school community.
Dedicated Chaplaincy Support
Our school is proud to have a Chaplain who plays a vital role in supporting our wellbeing initiatives. The Chaplain offers guidance and emotional support to students, helping to create a caring and nurturing environment.

Breakfast Club
To ensure that all students start their day ready to learn, we provide a Breakfast Club that offers healthy meals and fosters social connections among students.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
